What we do in South Cave
Aqua Venta covers South Cave (HU15) for water-only plumbing: leaks and burst pipes, dripping and seized taps, running or leaking toilets, radiator valves and bleeds, blocked kitchen and bathroom waste, isolation valves, stopcock replacements, outside taps and pipework. South Cave takes in the Georgian core around Market Place and Church Street, the older cottages up Pinfold and Beverley Road, the postwar streets towards Ellerker, and the newer estates around West End Farm Close and West End itself. We do not do gas or boiler work — it is a hard rule for this trade — and we will say so before you commit to booking.
South Cave housing is genuinely varied. The 18th-century Georgian properties around Market Place (charter granted 1291, market hall built 1796) have plenty of hidden pipework in solid walls where later kitchens have been added. Older limestone-rubble cottages have short awkward runs where the original scullery layout has been modernised. The 1970s and 80s estates have first-generation copper due for pinhole leak calls, and the newer West End developments use plastic push-fit and manifolds. Being on the edge of the Wolds, water pressure can vary noticeably between properties on the same street; taps that hammer when you shut them off are usually the giveaway. Chalk-aquifer water across HU15 is hard, and cartridges wear faster than the box promises.
Why a local water-side plumber
South Cave is a straight run from Hull along the A63 — twelve miles or so — and the village is small enough to be quick end-to-end once we are in. Market Place parking is short-stay and workable; the newer West End estates have easy off-road space for a signwritten van. We cover HU15 fully, plus Brough, Elloughton and Newport-Gilberdyke on the western fringe. Every job is by appointment during working hours — no 24/7 line, no out-of-hours claims — with a slot confirmed by text before we arrive.
Got an active leak right now?
Get the internal stopcock off first. On older South Cave properties it can be in a pantry, under the stairs or in an original cellar; on newer builds it is usually in the utility. Step-by-step at how to shut off your water. If a floor or ceiling has already taken water, move air through the room straight away and read drying after a leak.
