What we do in Elloughton

Aqua Venta covers Elloughton and Elloughton Dale (HU15) for water-only plumbing: leaks and burst pipes, dripping and seized taps, running or leaking toilets, radiator valves and bleeds, blocked kitchen and bathroom waste, isolation valves, stopcock replacements, outside taps and pipework. Elloughton is joined to Brough as the Elloughton-cum-Brough parish, so a lot of our work here spans both — the older Main Street core, the substantial detached houses along Elloughton Dale, the postwar estates towards Brough station, and the newer developments off Spindlewood and Stockbridge Road. Gas and boiler work is not something we do — it is a hard rule — and we will say so up front.

Elloughton has one of the more mixed housing profiles in HU15. Main Street has older village properties with tucked-away mains runs that were never planned to be extended; Elloughton Dale is largely detached, higher-value stock with longer copper runs under suspended floors — pinhole leaks in ceilings are the classic call there. Newer streets built between the mid-1990s and mid-2000s use plastic push-fit and manifolds that isolate quickly once you know the layout. Chalk-aquifer water across HU15 is very hard, and it is why cartridges and fill valves need earlier attention than the manufacturer suggests. Frost hits Elloughton Dale later in the day than Brough — the exposed gable ends up the Dale are where we see most outside-tap splits after the first hard night.

Why a local water-side plumber

Elloughton is a straight run from Hull along the A63 and off at the Brough junction. Parking is fine on the newer estates and manageable on Main Street outside school runs. We cover HU15 in full, including Brough and South Cave, plus adjoining HU14 into Ferriby. Every job is booked by appointment during working hours — no 24/7 line, no out-of-hours claims — with a text confirmation before we arrive.

Got an active leak right now?

Get the internal stopcock off. On older Elloughton houses it is often in a hall cupboard or pantry; on newer builds it is normally in the utility. See how to shut off your water for the walkthrough. If floor or plaster has already taken water, move air through the room straight away and read drying after a leak — the first 24 hours decide how much has to be replaced later.

Areas we cover

Elloughton village (Main Street, Church Street), Elloughton Dale, the Spindlewood and Stockbridge Road estates, and out into Brough station side and South Cave. All HU15, plus the Ferriby border. See the plumbing hub for the full service list.

Common questions

Things people often ask

Still not sure? Phone us — we’re happy to talk it through.

Do you cover Elloughton Dale as well as the village?

Yes — the Dale is part of our normal HU15 patch. The detached properties up there tend to have long copper runs under suspended floors and that is where we see most pinhole leak call-outs.

We have a leak on a newer Spindlewood-area house — do you know the manifold layouts?

Yes. The newer HU15 estates use plastic push-fit off a central manifold, usually in the utility. Once we identify which loop feeds where we can isolate that room and leave the rest of the house on.

Our outside tap splits every winter up the Dale — is there a proper fix?

Very common on exposed Elloughton Dale gables. We fit an internal drain-down valve so you can empty the pipe before a cold night, and lag or jacket the outdoor tap itself. That combination stops the split we see every February.

Do you do gas or boiler work?

No — water only. No gas, no boilers, no heating.

Do you offer 24/7 emergency call-outs?

No. Every job is by appointment during working hours. Same-day in Elloughton is often possible if you catch us in the morning, but we do not run an overnight line.
